Ride with us

A little about who we are and what riding we do:-

Time Trials

Club time trials - These are the main stay of the club over the summer, and take place every Wednesday night, starting at Fowlmead Country Park at Betteshanger, or the Reculver flyover over the Thanet Way (keep your eye on the website to see which course is being used or contact the time trial secretary). Start times are 7.00pm with signing on at 6.30pm (half an hour earlier for the first three events in April, and the last three in August). There's normally around fifteen to twenty riders, of all standards, so if you fancy a ride, or just want to see what happens, come down and take a look. If you fancy a ride, you can have an initial go without joining the club for £1, after that you'd need to join the club (£20 for the year), but this would then allow you also to enter any other time trials in Kent.

Sunday rides

We don't have any specific club Sunday rides, but there are two groups that go out most weekends with Thanet RC riders involved which welcome allcomers. The first is a fairly quick ride, and goes from St Nicholas bus stop at 9.00. If that sounds a bit quick there's a slower ride starts at 9.30 from the Reculver flyover (same place as the Evening 10s). The first ride will do anywhere up to 60 miles, the latter nearer 30.

Social

We also have a monthly social meeting, the first Friday night of every month, at Minster Village Hall, start time 8.00.
