Colin Robinson organised this thoroughly enjoyable day and afterwards he included this note with the result sheet (click on title above)...
"...the main message is that everyone was a winner for taking part in this highly successful inaugural event. Hope you all enjoyed the day as much as I did. It was great to see so many children enjoying themselves on bikes in a car-free location. I am very keen to repeat this event again and would welcome any feedback or suggestions from anyone (Parents / Children) regarding future events. The major problem I had was advertising through the schools, so any advice here would be much appreciated.
I would just like to thank all the children and parents for entering and taking part, and all the marshals and helpers on the day: Terry and Jenny Fearn, Pete Huckstep, Steve Quincey, Ian Ferrell, Bobbie Fairhall, Dave Mastin and my wife Nicola. Also a big thanks to Fowlmead, especially Mark, Barry and Gareth for their help and support with this event."
And the winners were:
Under 8's - Cole Owen Kingsdown and Ringwould Primary
Under 10's - Daniel Martin Blean Primary
Under 12's Tom Hume - Upton Primary
Over 12's Victoria Johnson - St Aurelius

it's great to see that kids are being re-introduced to competitive but fun cycling. Well done Colin for what sounds to have been a cracking event.
We seem to get a few kids taking part here in Australia and the taking part seems to be driven by the schools as well so you may be on the right track trying to get news of the event out through them. There is also a 'Parents News' free newspaper in Kent once a term from the primary schools that you may be able to get something in?
