Awful weather and safety considerations scuppered the early July events. Although we were luckier on the 16th, a nagging westerly wind slowed the return leg.

The romantics among us reckoned they could smell the anticipation in the air… the realists could smell something else; either way, the pre race effluvia signified that it was an easterly breeze. So on this pleasingly clement evening, some fast times were recorded.
