Back at Fowlmead (although, given the conditions ‘Foulmead’ would have been a more apt name) for the penultimate TRC event. The wind howled across the track from the south west, which coupled with chilly conditions provided a taxing test for the 12 riders.

10 September
The final Thanet evening 10 for 2008 drew an excellent turnout of 20 riders. On this fine evening with an easing south westerly breeze, Danial Phillips set a new course record for the Fowlmead circuit and Simon Henderson snatched an audacious victory in the evening points competition by the slenderest of margins. And thus it came to pass, that with racing done, we headed west, our smiles etched by the glow from the setting sun; hearts buoyed as another season drew to a close.
