A fact recently noted by our esteemed President. And I’m quoting him verbatim, so the language is his own (our apologies for this)!

"...Looking at last Wednesdays results (22nd April) I see that the old b***** Ernie Abdella set an age record for a 78 year old (34:43)over a distance of 10 miles. When I contacted him he reckoned it was just to have a ride around the circuit and age records was the last thing on his mind. Just as well Randell doesn't get on his bike.

Incidentally Mr President… a little birdie saw the aforementioned Randell, on his bike, riding out to his regular marshalling point last Wednesday... many a true word spoken in jest… as they say!
