Timed to perfection, with the rain falling just as we finished and only a moderate SW breeze to contend with; so to those of you who stayed away due to impending bad weather… BAD DECISION, especially as only 4 points separates first and second places in the points competition with only one week to go!

9th September
A fresh north easterly – just what we didn’t want; nevertheless, expectations were high, the atmosphere was electric, two TRC gladiators were about to meet for the final showdown in the evening points competition. Inett arrived first - to be precise, his bike arrived first, courtesy of Group 4 – clearly he was leaving nothing to chance. I bumped into Huckstep in the bushes; whilst my mission was obvious and straightforward, Pete was evidently checking out possible sniper positions… clearly he was leaving nothing to chance either. In the taxing conditions, everyone fell short of their previously recorded times, but in a magnificent display of grit and determination Colin only lost 15 seconds and thus scored the maximum 10 points. Pete hung on by his fingertips, just scraping 6 points; therefore the provisional standing is that the lads have tied for first place… brilliant!
