28th April
At last, a gentle south-westerly breeze on an almost warm evening. Those of us expressing a view seemed pleased with our times, but the winner was in a class of his own. Incidentally can anyone recall what the course record is for Fowmead? The lad must’ve been close to it!
On this fast evening, it occurred to me how TT riders can excel with 2 distinctly different body types; call them type A and type B. Type A riders utilise delicate muscles connected to long levers (often adorned in high tech hosiery and nourished by a healthy diet plus supplements). Type A riders breeze past you at high cadence, barely disturbing the air as they pass silently through… unlike the type B riders; built like ‘brick outhouses’ the turbulence, bodily fluid and sound of straining can be very off-putting for the rest of us as they blast past. One of these ‘type B’ riders freely admits that the only purpose for his massive arms is to shovel vast quantities of (any) food into his mouth; allegedly this rider once compared himself to a refrigerator… ‘Top Gear’ may have the Stig, but just who is ‘The Smeg’?

comment from Christine...
Hi Graham
Record is 21.42 if you have not already found it. Carl is going really well this year he even had to race with his skinsuit pinned together last sunday
I had the pleasure of putting the last few in.
See you soon.
Chris
