VTTA (Kent Group) 10 - 11th July 2010 Q10/30

Chapeau to Colin for a great event, the weather Gods were on-side this year with sunny skies and only a light SW breeze developing as the morning progressed. Mr Mastin provided this account of events:

"This was another event ably organised by Colin Inett on the Thanet Way.

A number of 1st and 2nd claim riders took part, with varying degrees of sucess. There were PB's for both the semi-retired Pete Huckstep and new dad Steve Robertson. Malcolm Adams, partnered by De Laune CC team mate, Alan Rowe, won the team awards on standard for both the main event and the Kent Group championship. Less fortunate was Dave Mastin. He was giving his new shiny PVC aero overshoes their first outing. Not only did he have to endure friendly ribbing about a PVC fetish, but one of the overshoes came unzipped after a few pedal revs and was flapping close to the chainring. He stopped on the flats after the Roman Galley to attempt to zip it up but it went again shortly after. In the end he rode the rest of event like this and made his excuses when back at the hall.

Times were:-

Andy Burrows 24.35
Pete Huckstep 24.45 (PB)
Steve Robertson 26.03 (PB)
Dave Mastin 26.34

Chris Bax 23.07
Malcolm Adams 25.33

Fastest on the day was Kevin Tye with 19.28."
