A belated welcome (and apologies) to Ray Treby who joined a couple of months ago and slipped through my net. Welcome also to Mick Heywood, we hope that their association with the Club will be a long and happy one.
Help-a plea from member Gill Griffith
I was wondering if I could enlist the help of our club-members (and possibly their friends too) in the hunt for my daughter's (Alex) 4 x 4 vehicle.
It was taken without consent about 10 days ago. It has been reported to the police, but so far, they have been unable to locate it. We know it is in the Canterbury area as it has been seen three times by an ANPR camera, but is long gone before anyone gets there.
The vehicle is a NISSAN MISTRAL -TERRANO II 2.7T-D 4X4 DIESEL ESTATE. The reg No. is N556 XBR. It is black with a champagne coloured bumper. Wing mirrors (attached to the doors) are chromed. There is also a small wing mirror on the front left wing. It has dark pink/purple wind deflectors on each window and one on the sun roof. There are very distinctive silver bull bars on the front of the vehicle and two yellow fog lamps situated within the loop of the bull bars. The spare wheel does not have a cover. I have enclosed 2 photos of the vehicle - the only ones we have (the snowy one does not show much, except that you can see the small wing mirror on the left wing, the top of the bull bars and the fog lamps).
The crime reference number is 300596
If anyone spots it could they please telephone the police on 01622 690690 immediately or asap, quoting the ref and stating that they know it was taken without consent from a friend and that they know the driver is uninsured. They will be transferred to Canterbury police and once they have given details of the sighting, the police will send a patrol car.
Please help us if you can
Thank you.

Warning.
Anyone considering a cycling holiday in the USA would be well advised to avoid the city of Black Hawk, Colorado as the City Authorities have recently banned cycling within the city limits. The reason given for this is to “promote safety” although there have been no recorded accidents involving cyclists. With a population of 118, Black Hawk is the least populous city in Colorado, however its main claim to fame is that there are 18 casinos in the city so they must enjoy a large amount of passing trade!
Anyone caught cycling in the city will be fined $68. A local protest has been mounted against this action.
