Wednesday Evening 10's July 2010

30th June
Unfortunately visits from the cone fairy meant that our quick thinking time keeper had to lop a mile off of the course. However, Dave subsequently extrapolated TRC times back to10 miles (shown in brackets); thus we are able to calculate points for the evening competition.

14th July
A blustery evening with forecast rain didn't deter Andy McCall and his army of marshalls and riders from venturing forth onto the Thanet Way.

1st Danial Phillips GS Invicta 22.49
2nd Andy Girling 23.26 (4 points)
3rd Rick Perkins 24.23 (9 points)
Tony Culshaw 25.16 (10 points)

Mervyn Bramfield 28.47 (5 points)
Shay Giles VC Elan DNF

Shay was unfortunate enough to puncture in both wheels, including a brand new tub... Steve also punctured a new tub, but after the finish, and was able to take shelter from the thunderstorm under a nearby tree. The rain was a blessing for Mr Burrows as he had just treated his lawn and it apparently needed a good soaking!

21st July

Conditions were improved this week with a light SSW breeze and sunny skies, although a downpour in the afternoon had left the roads very wet in places. Dave Mastin was marhsalling at the St Nicholas roundabout and reckoned Simon was around 20 seconds ahead of Andy Girling at that time - Andy clearly rode hard on the second half as only 2 seconds separated them at the finish!

Simon Henderson 22.51 (2 points)
Andy Girling 22.53 (8 points)
Rick Perkins 23.59 (6 points)
Tony Culshaw 25.09 (3 points)
Andy Burrows 25.21 (9 points)
Pete Huckstep 25.58 (5 points)
Bob Connell 25.59 (10 points)
Steve Robertson 26.51 (4 points)
Mervyn Bramfield 28.21 (7 points)

28th July
Dark skies but the rain held off today. Wind was a moderate westerly (on the bike it felt more like an easterly on the way out and a westerly on the way back!!) Simon and Andy Girling this week recorded the same time to take joint second behind Danial Phillips.
