Doug Laidlow will again be making the trip down from Lincolnshire to promote the Bill Philbrook Memorial '25' this year. Doug has asked us to support this event in what will be his 26th year as organiser - the last 19 in memory of Bill Philbrook.

The League International are running road races at Fowlmead on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th September.
First race of the day at 9.30 will be a training race over an hour, for those wanting to have a bash at road racing, but with little previous experience. Ride the full race, half of it or however long you want.
There will then be races at 10.45 for vets age 55+ and at 12.15 for vets from age 35-55, both over an hour plus a couple of laps.
Finally at approx 2.00 there will be an open event, open to all categories, over two hours.
Foul weather at Fowlmead meant race cancelled - the handicap competition will now take place on the 29th August.
The remaining Evening 10s will be split between the Fowlmead and Thanet Way courses as follows

The sunshine from the previous weeks remained, but this week a bitterly cold North Easterly wind chilled the timekeepers and slowed the riders down considerably on previous times.

Paul Burrows (Kent Cycles RC) won a cold and windy 10 on the Harrietsham course, clocking 21:52, to beat Kevin Tye (ODLS.com Racing) by five and team mate Carl Chapman by 57 seconds. Andy Burrows was the sole Thanet rider, clocking 28:20 for 27th place.
This Saturday's race at Betteshanger (28 Apr) has been cancelled, as the contractors are working for the weekend to get the site ready for its grand opening.
I have been contacted by Pat Cherrry who had this to say:
"I am contacting your to ask whether you are able to drawn any attention amongst you club to the Audax ride I am organising on 24/09/06. Its called The Crown and starts from Godmersham Village Hall. Its a failly hilly (featuring about 1800 metres of climbing) 114 km ride to St Margarets At Cliffe and back. Full details are available on the AUK website at www.audax.uk.net/cal/index.htm"
I have just received information from Malcolm Adams that the first of THREE evening TT's will take place on Thursday 31-08-06. Start time 6-30----6-45. Riders should arrive earlier than this time in order to sign on etc.
