VTTA 25 - 31 August 2008 Q25/12

A fine morning with light winds. Garry Banfield (Kent Cycles) won the event with 55:11. Carole Gandy (Kent Cycles) won on age standard.

Sadly the event was marred by an accident. Ian Sutton (San Fairy Ann) was hit by a car at the entrance to the boot fair on the road to Brookland. We understand that he sustained a broken collar bone and wish him a speedy revovery.

Gravesend CC 25 - 25 August 2008

A fine, rather chilly morning with the usual wind which never seems to offer any help on this course.

Andy Burrows was 2nd on age standard and 2nd in the combined age standard competition for the Gravesend 10 and 25 mile events... well done Andy!

Gravesend 10 - 23 August 2008 Q10/22

The sunny start to the event was quickly replaced by cool and cloudy conditions. And, according to our roving reporter there was a head wind in both directions! The winner, Ben Instone recorded 20:47, so he at least found some help on the undulating Harrietsham (apologies to those of you who have already spotted the original geographically challenged editorial error) course. Thanet times were:

The first hour took place in torrential rain, but then the sun came out and with light winds it wasn't too bad at the end. Thanet times were:

VTTA (Kent) '10' - 2 August 2008 Q10/22

A fine morning with a niggling crosswind.

Andy Burrows 25:30 (+ 5.30 OAS)

Andy Burrows was 3rd OAS and the Thanet pairing of Colin Inett and Andy Burrows won the Team Prize OAS with a plus of 9:55, thereby upholding the fine traditions of the Thanet Road Club.

Andy Miles (Gemini BC) was fastest on scratch, with a time of 21:58. Alan Rowe (De Laune) and Alan Brown (West Kent RC) were joint winners OAS, each recording a plus of 7:03.

A full field of 110 riders were treated to a warm and sunny day with hardly any wind.
